Ha-Joon Chang
Professor of Economics at the University of Cambridge
Ha-Joon Chang has taught at the Faculty of Economics, University of Cambridge, since 1990. He is currently the Director of the Centre of Development Studies at the University of Cambridge. Ha-Joon Chang has worked as a consultant for numerous international organizations (including various UN agencies and the World Bank), national governments, private sector firms, and NGOs. He is currently a member of United Nations’ Committee for Development Policy (CDP). Chang received his MA and PhD from the University of Cambridge. In addition to numerous articles in journals and edited volumes, Ha-Joon Chang has published 16 authored books (five of them co-authored) and 11 edited books (seven of them co-edited), including Kicking Away the Ladder (2002), Bad Samaritans (2007), and Economics: The User’s Guide (2014). Apart from his academic activities, He is the winner of the 2003 Myrdal Prize and the winner (jointly with Richard Nelson of Columbia University) of the 2005 Leontief Prize for Advancing the Frontiers of Economic Thought, awarded by Tufts University.
